Dr. Kellep Charles is a leader in the field of cybersecurity, currently serving as the Chair of Cybersecurity Programs at Capitol Technology University. In addition to his role as chair, Dr. Charles is a dedicated professor, the Director of Cyber Labs, and the Director of the Center for Cybersecurity Research and Analysis (CCRA) at Capitol Tech. With over 25 years of experience as a security practitioner, Dr. Charles specializes in digital forensics, incident response, malware analysis, Open Source intelligence, and vulnerability management.
Dr. Charles earned his Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) degree in Cybersecurity from Capitol Tech, where he has since made significant contributions to both academic and practical aspects of cybersecurity. His commitment to advancing knowledge and awareness in the field is further exemplified through his work as the executive editor of SecurityOrb.com which is an information security and privacy knowledge-based website dedicated to sharing insights into the motives, tools, and tactics of the black-hat community, while also promoting best practices and countermeasures against malicious events.
Dr. Charles’s expertise is supported by a range of industry certifications, including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), National Security Agency – INFOSEC Assessment Methodology (NSA-IAM), and Information Technology Infrastructure Library version 3 (ITILv3), among others.
