Dr. Setor Zilevu is a User Experience Researcher and Research Scientist who focuses on understanding human thinking and behavior. His work centers around the intersection of humans and machine learning to leverage technology to empower humans. He completed his Ph.D., M.S, and B.S. at Virginia Tech, where he developed cyber-humans apps for creating semi-automated interactive systems for in-home-based rehabilitation for stroke survivors. His work centered around bridging the gap between Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Machine Learning (ML) to develop a human-centric supervisor for ML models. He is currently a UX researcher at Meta. Dr. Zilevu was recently named as an honoree for MIT Technology Review 35 Innovators under 35 and as the youngest Ghanaian to receive a User Experience Ph.D. holder. Dr. Zilevu is highly passionate about education, healthcare, social justice, and fashion-tech and is currently utilizing his work to create products that merge UX and ML within these spaces.
