Sheila Isbell is an accomplished Technical Program Manager and Principal Research Scientist with over 20 years of experience in enterprise software development, specializing in data science, agile methodologies, and natural language processing (NLP). At the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI), Sheila has driven innovative digital transformation initiatives for clients including the Department of Defense (DoD), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and various state agencies. Her leadership has resulted in significant operational efficiencies and the successful launch of globally adopted cloud-based systems.
Sheila’s technical expertise is matched by her commitment to fostering inclusive and collaborative environments. As a dedicated advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), Sheila serves as the Executive Sponsor for an Employee Resource Group (ERG) at GTRI, where she has expanded membership and spearheaded initiatives that empower and support underrepresented groups.
