Yaw Etse is the Senior Director of Engineering at Capital One, where he leads our Data Sharing and Privacy engineering teams in Enterprise Data focusing on security, scalability, and operational efficiency. His role at Capital One involves driving innovative solutions and helping the company stay ahead in the competitive financial sector, especially through his involvement in projects on synthetic data and differential privacy. Yaw is actively collaborating with our MLX and academic engagement partners with Harvard on OpenDP and MIT on the Future of Data, to leverage research and advancements in secure data processing and privacy enhancing technologies here at Capital One.
Prior to Yaw’s tenure at Capital One, Yaw was the VP of Engineering at Invitae, a biotech firm specializing in clinical DNA sequencing, where he led R&D in DNA sequencing and lab automation. Earlier, he served as an Engineering leader at American Express, and the CTO of Promise Financial and co-founded DigiFi, a machine learning-based credit underwriting platform.
