Byron is a Cloud Architect at Google Cloud, Atlanta with 20+ years of experience in CyberSecurity, Network design/architecture of large scale distributed system/application infrastructure & Public Cloud platforms. Byron works with large enterprises to help them solve their business and technical challenges by helping them build/modernize/optimize their applications/infrastructure.
Byron credits his 20 years in the field of IT/Engineering to his natural passion and curiosity. He has been a mentor to people from early in career to mid-career and is a big advocate of Blacks in tech. Byron’s formal STEM advocacy began with the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) where he has been a mentor and advocate focused on increasing the number of Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community. He has spoken at several technical conferences, sharing his experiences with the broader community.
Proud AGGIE, Byron holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from North Carolina A&T. He’s also certified at the professional level in multiple Cisco, Palo Alto Networks & Google Technologies. Byron commits himself to making an impact on people of color who, like him, share an interest and passion for engineering and other STEM fields.
