Tope Iluyomade is the Chief Information Security Officer at BetterUp, where he oversees the company’s comprehensive security programs and leads initiatives in AI Security and Ethics. His role includes developing and implementing a robust suite of security measures encompassing infrastructure protection, risk management, data privacy, and compliance. With deep expertise across information technology functions, Tope has a proven track record of providing strategic guidance to organizations ranging from startups to publicly traded corporations.
Prior to BetterUp, Tope served as Vice President of Business Technology at Marqeta, Inc., a Forbes Fintech 50 company, where he aligned business strategies, streamlined operational processes, and built high-performing IT and systems teams. He also held pivotal roles at General Electric (GE), where he honed his skills in technology leadership, and General Dynamics, where he contributed to mission-critical operations.
Earlier in his career, Tope worked as an NSF Machine Learning researcher, focusing on the practical applications of AI and machine learning to solve complex problems.
Tope holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Computer Science from the University of Maryland Baltimore County, specializing in Machine Learning.
